
Todd has been developing with FileMaker Pro since the early 1990s. He is a frequent speaker at FileMaker Developers conferences, user groups, and Macworlds. He is given advanced FileMaker training classes in the United States and in the UK.
Todd learned databases while doing genetic research at Washington University School of Medicine. Before leaving academics to pursue a career building information systems, Todd published 17 articles in peer reviewed Scientific Journals.
Since 1997, Todd has been actively involved in either managing businesses, or building information systems to manage businesses. He has worked on a wide variety of systems--ranging from back end accounting systems to interactive web sites.
He is well known in the community for his focus on database integrity and transactional processing with FileMaker Pro. Recently he has pioneered the use of Adobe Flex Builder to extend the capabilities of FileMaker Pro with an enriched user interfaces.
Todd also studies Aikido, a Japanese martial art founded in the first half of the 20th century. Aikido is descended from the ancient martial arts of Japan, but it places a strong emphasis on harmony, peace, and communication. Todd has a second degree black belt, and teaches Aikido at the local community college.
